Our Story

Lordship Financial Group was founded by Ken Sorrentino, a (largely) lifelong resident of Lordship in Stratford, CT. The firm’s name reflects both a sense of place and purpose – rooted in the values of success, community, and legacy.

Ken established Lordship Financial to bring a higher level of care and strategy to wealth management – combining timeless principles of “Old Money” wealth with the intrepitude, innovation, and dynacism of “New Money” thinking.

Today, Lordship Financial Group serves clients down the Gold Coast and throughout the corridor with personalized strategies designed to help them grow, preserve, and transfer wealth to future generations with unrivaled confidence.

We combine traditional financial standards with modern tools and resources, to focus on achieving the outcomes you’re looking for. Our most valuable distinction is in our approach to wealth. We work with individuals, families, and small business owners who are focused on building, protecting, and preserving wealth. • What should I expect in our first meeting?

Our initial conversation is a straightforward opportunity to connect and understand your needs—no paperwork, no pressure, and no obligation. We'll discuss your financial goals and aspirations, your current big picture, and what values matter to you. From this, we’ll outline how we proceed. We strive to deliver service that is unrivaled.

  • What kind of planning do you provide?

Comprehensive wealth planning, beyond “traditional” financial planning. We think about wealth differently. Our services are strategically designed around key areas: active investment management, bespoke asset allocation and portfolio design, decision-making facing consequential uncertainty, tax strategies for estate and trust planning, and “dream retirement” planning. As complex as your situation may be, we’re ready to get to working with you.

  • Why the name “Lordship”?

Our name comes from the Lordship neighborhood in Stratford, Connecticut – a community that represents trust, success, and values that are worth keeping. It’s where our firm was founded and it’s the catalyst to our commitment.

Lordship was originally known as Great Neck. During the town's settlement, a man named Richard Mills built a farmhouse near what is now Second Avenue. The first documentation that references "Mill's Lordship" and the "Lordship Meadow" precedes almost four centuries of New Englanders choosing this cold, windy, swampy, salty marshland to call home.
